Brandon Body Works Limited first opened in 1938, family-owned and operated company. It began by manufacturing truck & trailer bodies for the family owned highway & city transportation business. They were located at 9th Street and Southern Avenue in Brandon. This property now has become a senior citizen home
In ’1977, Brandon Body Works limited was purchased by Arch MacArthur from the family and started a new company venture trading as MacArthur Truck & Trailer This company concentrated on serving the trucking community in south western Manitoba not just the family business for parts & service. MacArthur Truck & Trailer concentrated on the air brake business as it was so unfamiliar to local truckers. As the trucks have become larger air brakes are a very large part of there today business as will as many other components of the trucking industry.
In 1979, MacArthur Truck & Trailer became the local authorized parts & service distributor of Mack trucks.
In 1980 MacArthur Truck & Trailer built and move to its current location on the TransCanada Highway with a nine bay service shop and parts distribution area.
In 1998 an additional larger warehouse was built to be able to stock more parts They where now able supply the customers with much more of a variety of parts.
In 2000 MacArthur Truck & Trailer became the authorized distributor of Volvo parts & service.
In 2005 MacArthur Truck & Trailer started to sell the Doepker line of grain trailers and in turn added the whole Doepker line of over the highway trailers to serve the whole trucking industry, including grain, gravel, flat deck, drop decks, & Logger trailers.
Being in business for 70 years is quite a landmark for any company, credit must go to the company's dedicated employees, who are always willing to go the extra mile.
